Standing at the kitchen window, Jazz seized her opportunity to stand up at it from outside and get as close as doggily possible to me.
I was dropping toast in to the toaster, absent-mindedly watching her face and thinking how cute she is - really (I mean, despite wanting to get that cute boof-head of hers and flatten it when she makes me crazy) - when I realised she was studiously watching my every move.
Smart dog, what a clever girl, I gushed to myself. She's a handsome dog and she's brainy. Dropped the toast into the toaster. Clang, clang.
It was then that old Brainiac dropped her gaze down with her head cocked. She was looking for the dropped bread. Outside.
What a genius.
